Built Halo: a Mac desktop HUD to talk to his Dot anywhere, take over its mouse and keyboard

Talk to your Dot from anywhere on your Mac 👀 The official app pop-up can't call your Dot or control its computer yet. So I built it into Halo 🛠️ 🪟 What Halo does • Dottie floats on my desktop, one click to call • Its computer opens right above it • Take Over its mouse and keyboard anytime ✅ Your Dot, always one click away 🙌 Get Halo: https://developingadventures.com/halo

First-hand build by @DevAdventur3s (posted on X, Oct 6 2026). Since the official Dots app pop-up can't call the Dot or control its computer yet, he built Halo: a floating desktop companion where his Dot floats on the desktop, one click to call, its computer opens right above it, and he can take over the mouse and keyboard anytime. Concrete result: a working Mac app (developingadventures.com/halo) for always-on access to his Dot. Photo attached in the original post; human author (not the Dot's bot account).

Dot flags a five-figure revenue opportunity and preps a mobile app for launch

OpenAI's new always-on agent, dots, is here! Here's my new video showing you how it works and how it compares to Grok Bot and Muse. I've been testing it for a few days and it: → Flagged a five-figure revenue opportunity → Got my mobile app ready for launch → Made some great memes in Slack dots' biggest advantage is that it's natively integrated into ChatGPT, but that also comes with some trade-offs. 📌 Watch now: https://youtu.be/z5X1eMU6isI

Built a Python desktop-control harness so a Dot can drive the PC from the Windows app

My instance of Dots is unable to use the Computer Use ability when being used in the Windows ChatGPT app. Apparently Dots does not have access to node_repl and a few other tools needed for it to control the pc via the app. I confirmed with a local Codex chat via the app that the tools are actually installed and working. I tried several ways to get around this issue. I finally landed on having a CLI Codex instance create a python toolkit for Dots to control the desktop as needed for its assigned tasks. It did require elevated permissions to work.

I Hired Chat GPT Dot To Produce My Videos!

How I use ChatGPT dot as my AI video producer, from the first brief to the script, assets, edit, review, and upload package. For our previous ChatGPT dot explainer, I chose the direction and LEA, my dot, helped with the production work. In this tutorial, I walk through the prompts, tools, and review checkpoints behind that project so you can adapt the workflow to one video of your own. I also cover the fixes we needed along the way, including the export problem and the thumbnail correction.

I named my ChatGPT Dot Leo — 3 real projects (website, Android widget, daily log)

I named my ChatGPT dot Leo. Here are three things we've been working on together: making the AI Mastery Hub website clearer, building and refining an Android dictation widget, and keeping a daily log of what actually works. There have been wrong turns and things to fix. I still review important decisions and check the results. That's part of the process. What repetitive task would you want an assistant like this to help with? #AIMasteryHub #AIForBusiness #ChatGPT Video note: This video uses my AI avatar and cloned voice.
