I Asked ChatGPT Dots to End My Microphone Shopping Tab Chaos
added
I didn't want 20 browser tabs just to buy a microphone. So I asked my ChatGPT Dot, Norm, to compare three wireless microphones for recording videos on my phone under a $150 budget. I didn't ask which microphone is best. I told it what mattered: clear indoor speech, easy setup, compatibility, and reasonable return policy. Norm compared Rode, DJI, and Hollyland. It recommended Rode for straightforward phone recording, framed DJI as the budget option, and Hollyland as a more flexible kit. That gave me a decision, not just a shopping list. Saved me a lot of time.
First-hand (transcript-verified + real chat excerpts per creator's own description): A2ZAI asked his ChatGPT Dot, named "Norm", to research a real purchase — a wireless microphone for phone video recording under $150. Norm compared three models (Rode, DJI, Hollyland) against the creator's stated criteria (clear indoor speech, easy setup, compatibility, return policy) and gave a concrete recommendation: Rode for straightforward phone recording, DJI as the budget option, Hollyland as the more flexible kit. Creator reports the comparison gave him a decision rather than a shopping list and saved significant research time. No #ChatGPT_Partner tag. Category: deals (purchase research).
