Dot proactively flagged an app update it spotted

我根本沒有叫我的 dot 做任何事 結果它自己跑來跟我說： 「你的 App 新版本上架了」

Developer Antonie Huang (antoniehuang) never asked his Dot to do anything — it came to him unprompted with a notification: 'Your app's new version is live.' The screenshot shows the Dot's lock-screen notification confirming StylaDay 2.0.0 live on both the US and Taiwan App Stores after checking both public listings in its cloud browser. First-hand proactive-result evidence.

Dot passed a stress-tested hiring coordination task

Dot passed a stress-tested hiring coordination task

I Gave an OpenAI Dot a Hiring Task, Then Tried to Trip It Up I handed an OpenAI dot a hiring task, changed the rules, and added a duplicate. Dots are OpenAI's always-on agents. Each has its own cloud computer and can coordinate work through ChatGPT Work or Codex. The test (all fictional): 4 application summaries, a role brief, and clear boundaries: organize evidence, keep gaps visible, leave decisions to the human. The catch it caught: applicant two claims Python, but the project was a browser interface with no Python sample. The dot kept both facts visible and marked the evidence unknown, without treating a claim as proof. Changed priority to project-first: it reordered the columns but changed nobody's eligibility. Added 2 more plus a duplicate: result was 6 unique applicants, not 7. Evidence stayed attached correctly. Asked for an interview draft for applicant one: 5 project-specific questions, invitation left as a draft with placeholders. We chose the applicant, not the dot. The honest part: one staged session, fictional data, no comparison to regular chat. It organized. The decisions stay human.

I Tested OpenAI's New Dots Agent on 12 Real Jobs ($100/mo)

I tested OpenAI's new always-on agent, Dots, on 12 real business tasks — live, no cuts to the results — so you can decide whether it's worth $100 a month before you pay for it. Dots runs on GPT-6 Astra, has its own cloud computer, and keeps working while your laptop is closed. I set one up from scratch, called it on the phone, then threw 12 real jobs at it: fixing bugs in an app from a URL, writing a launch email with a before/after image, competitor research, a client mock-up, finding and cutting interview clips, sending an invoice reminder, filling in a form, booking time in my calendar, prepping for a meeting, finding a warranty in my inbox, a daily briefing and triaging 62 emails. Final score: 10.5 out of 12. It nailed most of them — but one flat-out failed, and the biggest limitation might surprise you.
